We are looking for a User Experience (UX) Manager who will grow at our corporate office in Marysville, Ohio.

The UX Manager will be responsible for identifying the best methods and processes for creating the optimal product user experience on SMG websites, email templates, and mobile applications.  This individual will have no direct reports and will report into the Director of eCommerce.

In this role you will:

  • Drive the ecommerce UX and have the ability to translate user and business needs into compelling and effective experiences;
  • Collaborate with developers, designers, writers, and strategists to meet stakeholder requirements;
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of UX design and research, including information architecture, interaction design, and content strategy;
  • Articulate UX solutions within user journeys, story maps, empathy maps, wireframes, and prototypes;
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Apple Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) and Google Material Design guidelines;
  • Analyze and extrapolate actionable findings from qualitative and quantitative research data, including analytics and user testing data;
  • Organize and facilitate workshops, brainstorms, and ideation exercises.
  • Create and support design systems and pattern libraries;
  • Demonstrate a broad knowledge of web, CRM and app ecosystems, with an aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving;
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies.

The perfect person will have:

  • 5 years or greater of UX design and research experience;
  • Proven work experience as a UX designer and researcher on an ecommerce site;
  • Design thinking and gamestorming experience;
  • Familiar with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1;
  • Service design experience;
  • Flexible in working with cross-functional team of designers, developers, editors, and content creators;
  • Exceptional communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences;
  • Exhibited capacity to convey working arrangements on variety of assignments under tight due dates;
  • Familiarity with AxureRP, Adobe XD, OmniGraffle, Visio, Marvel and Sketch.

Some other nice to have’s:

  • Bachelor's Degree or advanced degree in HCI, human factors, graphic design, or related fields;
  • Content Management System work experience; e.g. Drupal, Magento, Acquia, etc.;
  • Familiarity with markup languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
